A wonderful garden has not to be a large garden, sumptuous or located in a beautiful landscape. It would be perfect, but a lovely garden must be, primarily, arranged and clean. Then, there aresome other aspects that must be considered: furniture, space, accessories… The paths from natural stones are preferred landscapers with delicate tastes. The paths from of sand, gravel or crack will be one hundred percent natural and organic. The magic of this material has demonstration: imagine a red geranium grown at the edge of any with white marble pebbles and you will realize the result

Preserved Lemons with Rosemary
Preserved lemons are a classic Moroccan condiment often used to flavor stews and sauces. Boiling the lemons softens them more quickly than soaking them in a salty solution alone, cutting your soaking time to around three days. Keep in mind that lemons with thinner skins will take less time to soften. Thinly slice or chop preserved lemons (both rind and flesh), and add to fish, lamb, or chicken recipes. They also give a big flavor boost to tuna, lobster, and pasta salads. Remember to taste before seasoning the dish with any additional salt.
Directions:
Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil; add lemons. Boil 5 minutes; drain. Run lemons under cold water until cool enough to handle.
Cut lemons into wedges with pink salt, red pepper, and rosemary in a medium bowl. Pack into a jar. Pour lemon juice over lemon wedges to cover. Seal jar, and chill at least 3 days or until rinds are soft and pliable. Shake container daily. Store lemons in refrigerator up to 1 year.
Tip: Stir finely chopped pieces into hot or cold dishes for a burst salty, lemony flavor.

Straw Bale Gardening
Using the above guide, I watered the transplants daily with my metal watering can. This allowed me to concentrate the water to the area where the transplant was put in. I also watered the bale area around the plants, to keep the whole straw bale moist. I set up the drip system in my garden a couple weeks after the transplants were planted, and had a dripper placed at each transplant's base.
My first straw bale was essentially finished. From this point it was basically just watering it like I would the other veggies in the garden.
In the next part of this growing experiment, I will let you know how the transplants are doing, and perhaps try the other side of Straw Bale Gardening, starting seeds in the bale.

Cold Hardy Avocado
Whether on the deck or inside by a window, the Cold Hardy Avocado Tree offers dual functionality: it's a resilient plant on the patio and a reliable producer of fruit in the kitchen.
Able to withstand frigid temperatures as low as 18 degrees, from Green Bay to Tampa Bay, the Cold Hardy Avocado lives up to its name. Producing an abundant yield of fruit for more than half the year, in colder climates, just bring it in during winter months and watch your tree continue to grow.

Herb garden inspiration and ideas
This year started all my herbs from seed and they are almost ready for planting and make their way outside. {Usually completely forget and end up buying plants - so I'm really excited that I did remember me} because I want to keep it on the deck of our proximity to the kitchen, and I am always ready to find unique ways to display for the summer - other than normal something terracotta planters or normal plastic.
This Saturday is packed after weeks of inspiration for all kinds of single herbs gardens ideas to help you get off the beaten track planter.

Self-Watering Seed Starter Pots
A few weeks ago the girls and I did a project that I've been enjoying every day since. We repurposed 2 liter bottles and turned them into self-watering planters for starting our tomatoes and cucumbers indoors. They've been sitting on the window sill near my desk and I've been watching them grow every day. It's been the perfect antidote for the bummer weather we've been having here in Seattle.
I've tried starting seeds indoors several different ways over the years. So far this is my favorite method because the soil is always exactly the right moisture level and it's very easy to see with the naked eye when it's time to add water to the planter. There's no guesswork involved and the plants seem to love it.

Creamy Margarita Popsicles
I like to consider myself a philanthropist. I give the people what they need. What better way to increase the well-being of humankind than to give them a recipe with tequila in it?
I’m just kidding of course, but here’s the recipe anyway. Feel free to experiment by mixing in muddled fruits for, say, a strawberry margarita or a watermelon margarita after you get the basic recipe down. Enjoy!
